Fancy but expensive Wednesday night
This review of Legends in downtown Detroit is for a visit on the evening of Wednesday May 15,2019 from about 9:15 to 10:45. I walked about 6 blocks from my hotel. Looks like they had a small valet parking area but otherwise one would use commercial lots in the area. There was a van that I guess would pick customers up. Cover was $10. The club is in an old brick building that has been remodeled to have a 3 story high open space in the center. The entrance is at one corner of the short side of the rectangular building with a coat check next to it. Entering the main room the left long wall has the bar. The main stage is sort of dogbone shaped with 2 poles and tables and chairs surround it. Against the right wall are a series of reserved booths. Behind them on the wall is a huge TV screen that was showing the Tigers game from up the street and after that was over the NBA playoffs. To the rear is the rest rooms and some private rooms. There are 3 sets of stairs leading off the main floor, one in the rear marked employees only down to the basement and 2 others at the front and back leading to the second floor. There is also I believe an elevator. The second floor is mostly a balcony around the main space with a number of tables and a stage and pole in the middle of the long side that is visible both locally and from the main level. The rear of the second floor covers the whole width of the building and has a small bar and a few tables with a small single pole stage nearby. There are also a couple of private rooms there. In the right front corner of the building are stairs leading up to the third level which is the lap dance area. Several smaller TV’s around the bars.
