I visited The G-Spot on a Friday night. The private club is located in a prefab aluminum building on the main drag of Sabula, just a stone’s throw from the Mississippi River. The door is below a sign that says OSD Liquidation. There is a gravel parking lot, and street parking is plentiful. Because The G-Spot operates as a “members only club”, they can allow smoking inside and stay open late into the night. A nightly entrance fee of $10 gets you inside. Women can enter for $5. You can bring your own beer as long as it is in aluminum and not glass. You can even bring in a cooler. There is no hustle to sell you ice or store your booze in a refrigerator like I’ve seen at other BYOB around the United States. If you are a heavy drinker like me, The G-Spot is a great value. The club sells cans of soda for $2. Bar pizzas are $8. Hot dogs are $2. Nachos with cheese are $5. Nachos with meat are $5.50. Popcorn is $0.50.

The gentlemen’s club is very spacious and not overstuffed with furniture like many clubs. A large square island stage is in the center of the room. There is a pole in the center. Lap dance booths and VIP rooms are on the left side of the room. There is a mechanical bull in the far corner of the club. Customers can ride it for $5. You can also make a dancer ride it for $20. Occasionally, the club does a bull-riding tournament. There are also weekly beer pong tournaments. The washrooms were fairly clean. They do not have have doors but shower curtains covering their doorways. Most of the staff are younger guys in their 20’s. I’d guess all of the clientele were under 35 or 40. This members only club has more of a college party vibe and is not overly pretentious like many strip clubs try to be nowadays. The music is a good variety of everything: rock, pop, hip hop, country, electronic.

All eight of the dancers appeared to be Caucasian. Only a couple of the dancers could do complex pole tricks. Contact at the stage is two-way. Dancers shove their boobs in your face, hop down into your lap for a quick grind, and pull dollars off your face with their ass. You can insert dollars into dancers g-strings. Dancers are very laid back. Most will chit-chat and drink with you without being pushy for dances. The hustle factor is about as low as it can be at a gentlemen’s club.
