Going Downhill?

Had stopped by Atlantis earlier, around 9:00PM but there wasn't much of interest there; club has been poorly attended recently so I know a number of dancers who have gone in search of greener pastures. Knowing some of them migrate to the co-owned Purple Orchid I figured I'd hop over there and see what I could see. As I came in they only charged me $5.00 cover, which is less than they used to charge for a Saturday night; maybe their business is off too. The layout and facilities of the Orchid never change...just a small, cramped bar in a rectangle around the small stage which accomodates usually one, at most two, dancers at a time. I sat down and ordered a drink, one eye on the Sixers game on t.v. My initial sweep of the room revealed about 10 dancers hanging out with customers, plus there was the dancer onstage. Every dancer I saw was in the 4 -5 range, totally ordinary, not unattractive but nothing special or eye-catching. That's the first time I've encountered that at the Orchid; there's usually one or two hotties at least. As I was sitting there a tall, slightly full-figured pleasant but unremarkable looking dancer stopped by, making overtures that involved caressing my leg. I let her know that I would probably not be good company as I was focused on the game. That didn't stop her. After a while of very limited (on my end) small talk she said she'd be right back and left. I figured that was it. But 5 minutes later she was back into hard-sell mode. The game hit half-time and sense I hadn't seen any talent worth staying for and not wanting to have to fend off this one dancer any more, I just left. I know from experience that private dances at the Orchid can be high mileage. There just wasn't anyone I wanted mileage with on this night. Maybe it was just an off night.
