Used to be a Walmart. Felt like a Walmart.

Again, this review is for a trip from the end of 2018 and is from the perspective of a non-local/tourist. I’ve posted reviews for other Miami/SoFlo clubs from this same trip.

Tootsie’s was a pretty interesting experience. As others have noted, it’s gigantic and I guess the building used to be a Walmart or Sam’s Club. I don’t know how to really describe it but I did feel like the size of the club actually did make a difference in terms of the overall vibe and experience, and I guess the only way for me to describe it was that it felt somewhat sterile to me for a strip club. At least in the main area on the first floor, I felt pretty distant from the action since the girls were up high on the stage and there was a bit of a moat between the tip rail and the stage. It felt more like watching a theater show than being in a strip club if that makes sense. Also, the bigger, more open floor space and high ceilings made it seem like I was walking through a Dave and Buster’s as opposed to a strip club since different areas of the club felt pretty distinct from each other (i.e. main stage to bar area to satellite area to sports club).

Anyway, I spent most of the time on the first floor at the main/big stage watching the girls circulate. I probably saw 2-3 dozen girls during this time, although there were definitely more dancers in the upstairs area that never came down to the first floor and I didn’t bother venturing up there to find out. I think it was nearly 100% Cuban/Latina girls the night I went, and I didn’t see any white/American or African-American girls circulating. Range was probably 6-8, although some may rate the lineup higher if you’re in to Latinas. One weird thing is that the girls seemed to hang out in pairs or threesomes and I didn’t see many if any approach the guys watching the stage. I was by myself the entire time at one of the tables that surround the main stage area and the girls just seemed to stand in one place or maybe wander about without ever stopping by. My waiter may have noticed this and offered to grab any girl for me, but I was fine just hanging out drinking a few beers and watching the show since none of the girls really caught my attention. Total damage wasn’t that bad since I didn’t partake in any VIP sessions ($12 for entrance and beers ran for $6).
