I've been out of the PL lifestyle for a few years... got a bit spooked when a few local busts (Dancing Bare, K-girl apartment on the east side) coincided with a rising suspicion that Mrs Carey was getting wise to my shenanigans. Even cancelled my TUSCL account! Anyway, this past summer my curiosity got the best of me and I opted for a weekend mid-day adventure at the Sands, a place I’ve been going to on and off since the early 90’s. The place got an update a few years back when the management handed over to a new generation, but there is still the same little step in the middle of the floor that I trip over most visits. Most notable was the new “champagne room”: a bunch of semi-see-through curtains entered only at some ungodly rate. I spoke with a middle aged AA dancer that's been working there for years and she claimed that there were now cameras in the VIP lounge, so any extras had to happen in the CR. I figured that at $40 a dance, there would still be plenty of extras in the VIP!

The talent was pretty good: I remember a young spinner black haired tattooed white girl that still warrants further investigation, and a cute but unmemorable 20ish girl next door blond who I only got one dance from as she was not down with extras. In the end I was sold on the 40ish cutie with a big ass and a short flashdancy tank barely covering her DD fakies. Got her back to the VIP, where she somewhat proudly informed me that she was an old school Rick’s girl… having being a patron back in the heyday, this assertion means something to me. As in: you can buy all the mileage you want! Ha ha ha. She seemed to think this was pretty dirty/cool, and who was I to argue? Festivities ensued, and the 3 dance @ $40 per brought happiness. All in all, an unsurprising afternoon at the Sands. Not to mention, my prediction about the timelessness of VIP extras was validated.

Next comes the interesting bit… I got out of the VIP, and noticed a guy sitting in the corner across the room from the VIP. He had been there when I came in, and while I watched the stage show, I didn’t notice him ever go to the VIP. The Sands’ on-stage work is semi-ok… but honestly who goes to the Sands mid-day just to watch? Combed back blow dry hair, polo shirt, buff-ish, and a big mustache, this A-hole’s get up and behavior both indicated LE to me. I asked my dancer, “what’s the deal with that guy?” She replied “he’s either an asshole or a cop, since he doesn’t get any dances.” I replied “or maybe BOTH.” Ha ha ha. From there, I went to the men’s room to discreetly clean up. I hadn’t been standing in the toilet stall for 30 seconds when the mustache comes in to the bathroom, and waits behind me for the toilet stall. Then, as I flush and exit, he enters the stall and seems to be looking around for something. He doesn’t use the toilet, and then after a minute, leaves. I figure this has to be a vice cop trying to see if dudes are getting extras and then flushing or just dropping the evidence in the men’s. I was kind of freaked out, and this experience led me to steer clear of the Sands since this past summer. Of course, Drew Jr has a tendency to steer me back there over time!
