Still a favorite

I go to Palomino pretty much every time I'm in Las Vegas, and this last longer trip was no exception. I visited twice and both times I took a Lyft out to Jerry's Nugget and then walked over. This was worth doing. Both times I ended up behind Uber drivers collecting their kickbacks and other patrons paying $35 instead of $15 to get in. I would have called for their limo, but they often don't send it for solo customers unless you're there really early, so I didn't bother trying.

The club itself didn't seem to have changed at all from my last visit in May. The only difference I noticed is that their DJ has gotten more fond of their fog machine and the lasers. Both were overdone, I think. One of their lights in particular kept stabbing me in my eye when I was seated at the stage (on the right when standing at the entrance). This mattered less when I moved to the other side of the stage and the lasers were at my back, but the fog in the air was still an irritant. They have a decent ventilation system at Palomino, which often takes care of the smoke from patrons, but I found the atmosphere a little harder to take this time around. I blame the fog, though I suppose it could also have been extra heavy smokers or something.

Drink prices remain very reasonable, $6 for a Coke. Service was good, even when they were busy. I didn't spend the money to reserve a table this time around. I regretted that a bit when I found myself without a place to sit after a dance. But I wasn't feeling it as much this trip anyway, so it worked out ok.
