A dancer review of The Ritz

The Ritz is located on South IH45 south of downtown. It is relatively easy to get to, but it is in a shady part of town. The outside of the building is pretty plain, but it looks okay (not falling apart). The parking lot is on the small side, but I think they have additional parking on the side, or you can opt for valet. If you choose valet, you can get your car washed while inside. If you are parked far, or you leave at a late hour, you can a hop a ride with the parking attendant who drives around with a cart. I think it adds security and deters local rif-raf.

The interior of the club is much larger and nicer than what one would think looking at the outside. There is nice little boutique near the front desk that sells a pretty good selection of dance wear and accessories. There is small, more private area with couches that sits just off the main floor. The main floor is large stage with booths lining the walls on one side and the bar on the other side. There are a few tables and chairs in between. The main floor can get a little crowded, and seating can get competitive on busy nights. Near the bar, glass doors open in to a small sports lounge with TVs and a pool table. There is, of course, an enclosed outdoor area for smoking that has a lot of seating, heaters, and TVs. Last, but not least, the VIP area. VIP seating is upstairs with plenty of places to sit, both for groups of people, or for private dancing. The decor is modern with black leather couches, colored lights, and small dance floors with poles. In middle, a cut out area of the floor lets you watch and tip the dancers on the main stage below.
