Extremely slow

I typically visit the Manhattan Club on Saturday evenings. Even then things start out slow, but nothing like my last visit which was on a Thursday. I arrived around 6:45, 45 minutes after the club opened. There was only one dancer there, and she was sitting by the bar where everyone else was. I wasn’t able to tell if there were any customers initially or just staff.

I grabbed something to drink and some change from the bartender and took a seat near the stage. After some time the dancer came and sat with me. She was good company and we chatted for a while. After about an hour she was finally told to take the stage, for two songs. Her dancing was far from inspired, but she was the only action going.

Even though she wasn’t my taste, and was older than I prefer, I tipped her a few and asked her for a 2 for $40 couch dance. It was obvious that no more dancers were going to show anytime soon and I didn’t want to walk away without at least getting a dance. The dance was nothing special, but was worth the $40.
