Being new(ish) to SF, I've been trying to take in the scene. Reading promising reviews, I decided to try out Crazy Horse.

I trust others have described the layout inside the club, but there is something to consider: Looks like it was previously a movie theater, with folding old-style theater seats that only go 3/4 the way up your back (I guess this depends on your height). A T-shaped stage with seats on either side. But here is the weird part...there are something like 15 rows of seats facing this T-shaped stage (literally think movie theater). What this means, is that for those who sit in the seats along the stage and actually tip the dancers, you are somewhat on display. Seriously, take that in. I've been to clubs in numerous countries, with many setups, but Crazy Horse seems to be a little creepy on this front. At one point, after tipping a dancer only a few dollars, she got off stage to sit on my lap and such, but my enjoyment was difficult to maintain as the attention on me -- including piercing eye contact -- was a little unnerving. Basically, I had become part of the show for the non-participating crowd sitting in the inclined floor of theater seats.

Now this isn't the end of the world, and I even suppose this exhibition element might be considered a plus for some folks. But I can't stand being an accidental erotic prop. I've had that happen at street fairs (Pride parade, Folsom Street Fair, Bay to Breakers, etc.) where you make out with a girl, only to suddenly realize there are a few losers holding up iPhones, making a video of you. WTF? Hey, I'm trying to have a good time, not become your porn. If you or someone you know does this, please stop. Or tip me at least, bro.
