Low-key daytime hangout

Mpire's daytime shift has gotten a little more consistent, thankfully,and they seem to have gotten past their staffing problems that often kept them closed until late in the afternoo . There're two specials that run consecutively: from noon til 4, you can get a lunch--with beer!--for $10. The burger is okay, and the tempura chicken tenders are surprisingly good. The fries are great while hot, but mediocre once they cool. That's a terrific deal, but everything after that first drink will be charged at the usual inflated DC strip club prices, plus 20% gratuity. From 4 to 7, beer and glasses of wine are $5 each. That's still the best price in town, by far.

I was by recently on a Monday, and there were five dancers working. The lineup leans heavily to slender-to-normal builds and natural breasts. I don't think any of the dancers had implants. Three white girls, a black girl, and one that might be Indian, Latina, or some mix. All very beautiful, most very friendly They took turns dancing on the elevated stage, and were mostly sitting with customers when not on stage. It was a very low-key atmosphere, with just a couple of customers present and a handful trickling in/out as the afternoon went on.

I sometimes visit at night too, and the scene is very different. They usually have the upstairs floor open, which is taller, brighter, louder, and usually a lot busier. But for value and relaxation, the day time is where it's at.
