Summer Doldrums

I've been up in the Colorado mountains since early June (high 40s nites, mid 80s days) and enjoying life. However, I've had to come down to Phoenix all this week for various reasons. Therefore, I needed to stop off at Chicas to 1).get out of the Phoenix summertime heat, and 2). enjoy the ambience the place affords. When I pulled into their lot, most parking slots were vacant; no doubt much of the reason was illustrated by my car's thermometer reading 114 degrees.

The club was comfortably cool, the requisite bottle of water was cold and cost the usual $5, (plus a $2 tip to the exquisite bartender in her almost-a-bikini outfit). And then settled down to peruse the premises. There were 5 young ladies ready to dance, and 5 customers. Just about the correct balance. Again, when its 114 degrees and not a cloud in the sky, most people are hibernating in their homes. The 5 young ladies were all eminently presentable, though each belonged in their own niche. Blonde, brunette, light brown hair, none were as much as thick, and at least 4 of them were "au-natural" as far as bolt-ons were concerned. The 5th, I never got a good-enough glimpse to ascertain what was what. There was no "clip-board note taker" to disrupt individual dances. The very large, corpulent manager made one sweep thru the dance areas but was otherwise occupied elsewhere.

I didn't partake of the private areas today, tho I might do so later in the week when I return. For those wanting vip dances, the fee to the house is $20, and each dance with the lady of your dreams will also cost $25. There is an "eye in the sky" located to the upper left of your entry to the vip room. I stuck with the normal $10-per-dance format out in the main room. The first lady's visit ended up at $100 + tip and the 2nd lady ended up with $80 + tip. They were both happy and so was I. And you can't do better than that. I did notice that with all dancers, due to the dearth of customers they did not dwaddle about when a new customer came in, or if a customer was finished visiting with lady #1, that lady #"N" would be right over to keep him company. It's the nature of the business during the summer doldrums.
