Sugar Shack is not too far from the town of Lake Geneva, just a few minutes north up a county highway. I was on the west end of the lake Friday night (dinner at Gordy's - decent tacos, some fun live music at Chuck's), and from there it ended up being something of an ordeal to reach the club. GPS sent me on what looked like a straightforward route north and east, but a big chunk of it was closed and the detours sent me way out of my way. It would have been better to go around on the south side of the lake even with all of the stops through town.

In any case, I arrived around 11:30pm. The lot wasn't full. The sign outside indicated there were male dancers upstairs. I didn't investigate, but later in the night there was a group of women looking like a bachelorette party so I guess maybe they do. Admission was $10. I was escorted to a table, which is unusual in the states (and ubiquitous in Montreal), though the host didn't ask for any sort of tip. There's one decent size stage in the center of the back wall, and nice high ceilings to make the space feel nicely spacious. Seats surround the stage, which didn't have any pole at all. To the left and right of the stage area was more seating which was raised up and provided a surprisingly good view of the stage. Service was pretty good. A cute waitress came through frequently. A bottle of water was $5.

The stage show was uninspired, but not bad. There was no pole, so there were no pole tricks. Some of the dancers put some effort in, a few others just sort of rolled around on the stage. The dancers all wore dresses of some sort rather than just lingerie or other typical stripper garb. The stage sets were two songs. Most of the dancers got nude within their two songs, but a couple just went topless. One stripped down to just her shoes immediately and seemed somehow extra naked. In addition to the stage, there was a pole set up on the end of the raised side area that sometimes had a dancer, and a few times I saw a dancer climb up on a table and dance there.
