A Shadow of Its Former Self
So, I was a big fan of the old Solid Gold and Pure Platinum. In particular, Solid Gold had a consistently hot selection of girls, who were eager to please, and who gave high-quality dances. I've now been to the new Solid Gold twice and it just doesn't have the same feel/vibe. I had a little trouble finding the club, but parking was easy. Yes, the new club is spacious, clean (for a strip club), and comfortable. Actually, it looks a lot like the old place. But overall, the club is not quite as customer friendly as before. Everything from cover to drinks are a little more expensive than before. Also, the club seemed a little more uptight and a little less touchy-feely compared to the old club. Its seems like they are making a push to become a higher-end club like Eleven or (the former) Wonderland in Miami which of course comes with certain pros and cons. Finally, its seems like many of my favorite dancers from the other location did not make the switch. I had a couple of drinks, smoked a few cigarettes, and had just one uninspired dance before leaving. The dancer was blonde, petite, and super cute, but did not give it maximum effort. I don't plan on going back any time soon. IMO, there are many other clubs in the same area that offer a better experience for less money. Still, I think the club definitely has potential and the overall dancer quality was still good. Hopefully they can work out some of the new-club kinks and get back to being like the old Solid Gold club.
