Serviceable Experience

I went with my buddy last Thursday night around 10:30 PM to St. James. It was our first time in a Houston Strip Club, and while the experience wasn't special to write home about, I feel like its a serviceable joint with decent milage and reasonably priced drinks (all things considered).

Cover was 15/head. As a heads up, know that if you choose to pay cover with your CC, they will take a picture of both your ID and CC. When we made our way into the main room , we quickly surveyed the room and noticed that very few patrons were sitting at the tables near the main stage, or tipping the dancers. We quickly made our way over the bar and ordered a few drinks and soaked in the sights. For the most part, the dancers themselves were solids 6-7s. With few exceptions, the majority of the dancers were latino or black, with a few fake blondes thrown in for good measure. The girls themselves were not very aggressive and I was only approached twice for a dance (but perhaps this had to do with the way I was more casually dressed, just t shirt and shorts). In order to get dances from the girls I was interested in, I had to approach them while they were dancing on stage, tip them, and ask them to come by after they were finished with their dance. Note: it's club policy that patrons are not allowed to touch dancers when they are on stage (even if it's more a tip). This contrasts with some other clubs I've been in San Antonio, as well as the North East.

Over the course of the night, I got multiple 20$ dances. Dances are done in semi private rooms (these rooms have no door/curtain, but the room itself is sectioned off, and its one patron/dancer per room). When you go into a dance room, there are two chairs. The patron sits in the corner chair, and the other chair is placed as a sort of barrier blocking entrance into the room. The lap dances were fairly pedestrian, but were fairly involved contact from the dancer. Note that patrons are allowed to touch (sure as heck beats the air dances I've received in Massachusetts, but more pricey than some of the places I've been in Phoenix). During my dances, I was not offered any extras. I'm not sure if St James even offers a VIP room, but I'd be curious to compare experiences with some of the other enthusiasts on this site.
