King’s Inn—Only game around
The Kings Inn is a strange place, but it’s the only game in the area now that Temptations closed in New Bedford. When you drive up to the KI, it literally looks like the building is falling down and that it must be closed—but it’s not. If there weren’t other cars in the parking lot, I would have assumed that this place had been closed down. I went into the KI and it’s a decent set-up with a long bar on the left side of the building and the stage on the right side of the building. I’ve been here a few times and generally spend the majority of my time at the bar. I do this for two reasons: 1) there usually aren’t that many dancers on shift and the bar feels more comfortable than sitting at a stage with no dancers and 2) the bartenders are always super cheerful and talkative in here. I walked in at about 3pm and there was 1 girl who looked like she was just wrapping up for the afternoon (cause o never saw her again) and there was one other girl that was working. The one girl that was working wasn’t my type, so I spent the next couple of hours having some drinks, talking to the other customers and playing the video game that they have on the bar. I was hoping to see some new talent come in at 5pm, but 5pm came and went and no more girls showed up. 6pm came and went and still no more girls showed up. By 6:30 I called it quits and headed back to Boston. There’s something about this place that I want to like, but it usually disappoints.
