Beyond The Pleasure Principle

I've been going to Follies a lot less than I was a couple years ago but enjoying it more. Enough more that my attendance has ticked back up some in recent weeks. On nearly every visit this year it seems I meet a new stripper who is my type. I'm always thankful when an innocent looking young thing chooses to dance at sleazy high mileage Follies instead of the kind of boring gentleman's club where you would expect to see her.

Only problem is how few of them choose to stay. Same old story as ever. Offhand, I can think of about a dozen lately who I wish had stuck with it for more than a couple days to realize their full freaky potential. But meanwhile, new ones keep showing up to take their place. And there are still a few longer term faves around who keep things interesting most days.

I've been liking the smaller crowds on weekdays (although I realize that may have something to do with all the stripper turnover.) Until a few months ago, I was needing to come in earlier and earlier to have any chance at getting a decent wall set. Even by 12:30, I might've had to wait until something freed up. These days, it's no sweat until after about 2 or 3:00. And for some reason, a lot of the hot new girls I see aren't even starting until about then.
