Visited: Saturday Evening

Finding myself with the rare combination of time and funds, I made the trip for my first visit to the recently renamed City Limits Showgirls in Marysville. It's a small club housed in what looks like a converted warehouse located near the edge of the small town. The club is attached to the Bottoms Up Bar, and the entrance fee includes in-and-out privileges to and from the bar. It's a convenient way of circumventing the "no alcohol" rule that full nude clubs have in the area.

My goal for this visit was to get familiar with the surroundings, and scope out the goods and the prices they were available for. I started by checking out the Bottoms Up Bar. I was visiting on a Saturday about an hour before midnight. The counter was being serviced by a chubby but cute brunette. I took a seat at the bar and she handed me the food menu, which was limited to a handful of BBQ meat options served with a side of potato or macaroni salad. Prices were decent, and about on par with the prices you would find at other bars. I opted for a pulled pork sandwich with a side of potato salad. While waiting for my food, I took a look around the room and the other patrons. Above my head were a number of TV screens showing a variety of sporting events. On the walls were framed paintings of pop culture gangsters like Pablo Escobar and Al Capone. On one wall was a digital jukebox, and on another wall was a couple of dart game machines. Playing the darts was a young bunch of blue collar country guys festooned in jeans, flannel, and trucker hats. They looked like they were having a good time throwing darts and drinking beer, while country staples from the likes of Merle Haggard and The Eagles played over the speakers.

A few minutes later a middle-aged man named Al brought over the pulled pork sandwich and potato salad. As he set the food down he claimed that the BBQ they used was made from scratch in-house. The sandwich itself was actually pretty decent, and the portions were adequate. The sauce itself was good, but cloyingly sweet for my taste buds. The meal itself came to around $13.00, and I paid the server lady with tip. She shouted out a good night as I walked out the bar to check out the club proper.
