Changing For The Worse
I was ticked off previously when this club started to ask for a cover charge at 9pm for $10. But now they've extended it to start at 7pm, but at least its $5.
There is a constant tension between the pretentiousness of this club trying to be a high roller executive VIP club and what actually happens. When I entered it was a nearly all black customer base and ear splitting gangsta' rap. No offense, but that is just not my style of music. However, it is now ubiquitous in the DC clubs. I saw only one or two dancers who were attractive.
They showed videos of two dancers posing for pictures and dancing on a photo set with the tag line that you can spend "quality" time with them in the upstairs cabana rooms for several hundred dollars. Since DC has a "no touch" law, these seem to me to be a waste of money, unless you find a bouncer and a dancer willing to break the law. I say if the dancer is willing to do that, she will probably be willing to go for OTC. I sat with one dancer at Mpire who was giving me some BS about how she did some kind of faux "lap dances" in their private room. But its not worth the money to find out what she meant. You will have to spend time and money getting familiar with any dancers willing to go OTC in order to get them to trust you in DC clubs.
