I live a half-mile from the Acropolis so it's difficult to resist dropping in. The day was warm (in the 80s) and I was feeling down so I headed over to the blue-and-white striped plywood building on SE McLoughlin Blvd around 6:30 PM to grab a beer and see if my new all-time-favorite was dancing.

Paid my $4 cover charge, chatted with the bouncer for a minute, then headed in. It was a weeknight so there weren't many dancers there. In fact, only one on the main stage (there are four total but all four are only in use on Fridays and Saturdays to the best of my knowledge) when I walked in. Michelle, a thin brunette who has a pleasing shape and a wicked grin but itty-bitty titties. She also bartends and I've seen her enough that she recognized me. I bought a hefeweizen ($3.75 for a pint) and stayed for all four of her songs. She played an Eminem song, a Kenny Chesney song, some rap I didn't recognize, and Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel" while I gave her shit for giving me genre whiplash and admired the way she maximized what she had up top. When the two guys sharing a pitcher of beer started sharing a dollar between them, she moved the fan to point at me and the guys sitting behind me eating and tipping.

When she was dancing elsewhere I would look around to see who else was dancing. Another small-ish girl I'd seen last Saturday night with freckle tattoos (no, really, she's tattooed on freckles) and blue-green hair came down the stairs behind the main stage and wandered over to the bar. I wondered if there were only two girls here tonight. Then I noticed in the mirror behind the main stage that a blonde was dancing at Stage 2. I couldn't tell from where I sat if she was worth moving up there for a closer look or not, but since I counted three girls now, that meant there was a fourth hiding somewhere. Michelle was OK but since the bird in the bush (so to speak) is often more intriguing than the bird in the hand (figuratively - touching is still not legally allowed in Portland) my curiousity was piqued.
