TL;DR - Beautiful venue. Surprisingly rough around the edges. Hospitality is a thing.
Part 1: Wall tries to park a car...
After seeing an assortment of clubs ranging from pretty good to stuff I scrape off my shoe bad, finally got here. Tried to park around the side so I would have to valet the car. There is open parking on that side road (the club parks their cars in the lot across the street), but this club is very particular about all customers needing to have their cars valeted if they weren’t dropped off. After I parked, they had some guy sitting in a car who hops out and starts pestering me about using the valet. Had real attitude about it, too. At first I thought he was just some annoying asshole on RIL stumble into my business, but looking back on it maybe he was just a club flunky who was bitter because he was the lookout for the parking policy offenders. I ignored him, of course, and kept walking.
Got up to the front and there were two guys in suits, one who looked like an outtake from Goodfellas and the other like Dog the Bounty Hunter moonlighting as strip club muscle. I asked them about the valet policy, and they professionally but firmly verified what the imp on the corner had been yipping about. I contemplated just bagging the whole visit, but after (mostly) passing up all sorts of mileage over the past few hours on my way up 8 mile so I’d have pocket cash for whatever was up the ramp I just shrugged and said I’d be right back. The street minder said some “glib” on my way back to the rental, but one of us was going in the club to get into some fun and the other was going to be hanging out by the curb waiting for guys like me to give them something to do. I’ll take that trade any day. He was halfway on the day to be being a broken clock, and was gloating like he’d just done a poster-worthy power dunk. When he got silence in return for his antics, he just mumbled something and that was the end of it.
