Pretty darned good

I stopped by the Gold Club on a recent Sunday evening. A dancer I've known for a long time recently started there and has been complaining to me that the other girls are going the extra mile for only the price of a dance. Apparently it's hard to compete when you're one of the few "clean girls" in the club. That, plus recent reviews saying the quality of the dancers looks-wise was enough to pique my interest.

The Gold Club building was originally part of the Dolphin chain. It's spacious inside and nicely decorated with a large stage, lottery machines and a couple of pool tables. I don't think I've ever been to this place and not seen some PL playing pool with a cute young thing in her lingerie. The lighting is not so dark that you can't get a look at the girls across the club and the music isn't so loud as to prevent conversation.

There were probably twice as many dancers as customers in the club on my most recent visit. I don't think I've ever seen the place crowded. On the other hand, I tend to avoid the crowded times so maybe that's not a fair assessment. Dancers were mostly quite attractive, 7's to 9's with the least attractive being, maybe, a 6. They were mostly white with a couple of ethnic girls thrown into the mix. Most were slim with a couple qualifying as spinners. There were also a couple with a little more meat on their bones though not fat like you'd see at some of the more divey Portland clubs; just a little thicker.
