Expensive for Florida and not as impressive as expected, but fun nonetheless

OK, so I finally made it to the infamous Tootsie's. Was it big? Yes. Were there a lot of girls? No doubt. But overall it was not what I expected. I heard the stories about this club being converted from a Costco store, but for some reason it seemed to be a bit less spacious than I expected, like they are using a chunk of the building for behind the scenes stuff.

Anyway, for starters on the costs, I paid $8 to get in and was being rung up for $8.50 per single shot for my Jack drinks. Since I ordered doubles to fill the glass more, I was paying $17 per pop. Later in the night a different bartender showed me a lot more love, but I bought four or five rounds like that, along with a number of single shot dancer drinks. Needless to say I spent some money at the bar and felt that at least one bartender was ripping me off a bit. I have heard about a parking charge, but was never asked to pay a parking fee while I was there.

When I first walked to the entrance, the door guy, no doubt recognizing my discriminating tastes and overall refinement (lol), tried to convince me to pay the $20 upfront to go up into the VIP section. This would have also covered my general admission. Instead I payed the $8, but also ended up paying $20 more to go upstairs later, so he was right that it would have saved me $8 upfront. Lesson learned.
