Good atmosphere, but too expensive.

If I had to sum up my experience at Diamonds in a few words, it would be that it's a great place, but you need to come ready to spend. You ever find a great restaurant and think that you'd love to eat there more if everything were 2 or 3 bucks cheaper. That's the feeling I had leaving Diamonds, but with tits and more money.

I showed up at around 10:30 pm or so. I got patted down, which I'd never had happen at a club before, but it wasn't obtrusive. There was a $9 cover, and the door guy tried to upsell me to VIP, but I wasn't interested. I went in, and the club was pretty dead still. I know that's not too surprising at 10:30 on a Wednesday, but since the place closes at 3, that doesn't leave much time for it to pick up. In terms of the club itself, it's pretty clean but not perfect. There is lots of seating around the sides, and a big stage in the centre.

I sat for a while, and was approached by one dancer for a lap dance, but I wanted to watch the dancers on stage for a bit. That was a mistake, because after the dancer who was on when I came in left, there was probably a 20 or 30 minute break before another girl went on. Also, this was my first time at a strip club in AB. I knew about the whole "throwing loonies at the stripper" thing before I went in, but for anyone who's not used to it, it really, really sucks. You spend two songs watching the girl get naked, and then when she finally is and you want to see her dance, she just spends that whole time going person to person and kneeling in front of them with a bucket in front of her pussy for them to throw coins. What a waste of time.
