Good if your have the right expectations
Well, yes, it has been a while since I have reviewed (things got crazy in my IRL world in the last months of 16 and early 17, but tht applies to just about everyone) and I come back to hit one I have done a couple of times before. But hey, I had a swing by various cities in the East Coast with a couple of idle evenings in between so I made a quick visit to see if things were still as I remember.
Well, they are. One thing to say for Flashdancers is they maintain consistency. Always of course a supply of East Euro gals, but also a variery of other flavors all of whom are easy on the eyes... and tough on the wallet. Good stage presence is not the strong point of this crew, the predominant angle is brief chat and then dance (they need to make that house fee!) but hey, as long as you know what you're getting into: this is not SoFla or Detroit. Also, on this particular night there was a significantly visible presence of Asian dancers, which in my case makes for higher vulnerability of the aforementioned wallet. Nio/Nyo a Japanese lady with skilful surgical enhancement was particularly adept at keeping me getting another dance, thanks to liberal access to and application of all uncovered parts and very close grindage, and sexy chat before and during the dance. In fact this evening the girls who hustled me, even the Slavic types, were mostly reasonably fluent and I like that since I appreciate being able to have a bit of an exchange before taking a chance, if I have not had the chance to see her onstage first. (Other nights, though, it has been majority "hi, your name? vant dance?" so it's a bit of a crapshoot there.)
Is it tourist trappy? Hell, right on Broadway it would beggar the imagination if it were not. But you know what, there is no shame in acting touristy now and then. Go in there knowing that the very expensive upsell delivers very little other than a bit more privacy but nothing earthshaking is going to happen, and you'll avoid the biggest hit and be able to just enjoy it as it is. At least the Flashdancers chain does not try for the faux "ultra lounge" pretentions of other clubs (BTW, just noticed that Sapphire has opened one such location, Sapphire 39th, right in midtown, encroaching on Rick's territory), you won't feel inadequate for not having stepped off a limo or sitting at a table with flaming bottles paraded your way.
