No Longer Open At Noon

Over the past year the reviews for 5th alarm have been getting increasingly worse. There are very few good qualities left that made the old 5th a worth while stop. Every three months or so I try to stop in during the lunch hour hoping for a bit of improvement because even though this is a true dive, it used to be a fun place to stop by every once and a while. As I am in the Springfield occasionally I stop by hoping for the best but usually find the worst. IMHO at this rate, they will not last another year.

I stopped by this Friday for my once every 3 month visit. As I pulled in, the parking lot was empty. There was a white piece of paper on the door. I parked and went and read it. It said the new opening hour is 4:00 pm. Now for those of you that know the area, stopping by in the middle of the day is OK, but that area at night is a completely different thing. The night time element is not good at all and the whole element of the club becomes thuggish. The kind of PL that go to this club at the lunch hour would never go there during the evening. I hope that this is not a downhill spiral of death for this club.

This is the 2nd of the 4 Springfield clubs that are no longer open at noon, and of the 2 that are open only one is worth going to. I guess that Springfield is quickly becoming the place not to go for the early afternoon hours.
