A decent club on the Block
Me and friend of mine decided to venture back to the Block for a second try after our first visit was a huge flop, I forget what day we went but I remember it was a week day and were there in the early evening so everything was mostly dead. This time was a different story as there was a lot activity in the area. I will say up front that the area of the Block is sketchy as hell not some where I would frequent often but every now and then you need to say "What the hell". Chez Joey was the first club we visited and it was a decent little club. It is set up like most of the bars on the Block in that it is a narrow space with a long bar set with spots for the patrons to sit with a stage on one side and a couple of small tables on the other. There is a small lap dance area at the far end that consists of a couple of couches out in the open. The drinks were the same as all the other bars around the area, I am a little fuzzy on the exact prices (so don't quote me) but I believe it started at $9 for beers, $11 for rail drinks, $15 for premium, and $25 for ladies drinks. They had an okay assortment of women and most were pretty attractive with only a couple that I would call unattractive. A couple of them came around and sat down for a few minutes and instantly left when I declined to buy them a drink. One dancer came back around and repeatedly rubbed her ass on my back to get my attention but it was more annoying than anything since she was one of the ones I did not find all that attractive. My friend did end up getting some lap dances from a small spinner of a girl, maybe asian or latin I couldn't tell, and he said he enjoyed it. Overall it is a decent club that I would frequent more if the area wasn't as sketchy and a little closer to home.
