Good Club, But Pricey!
I've been to this club twice in the past few weeks, once on a Tuesday night, once on a Wednesday. I like it a lot, despite the fact that there were so few dancers. I was told, however, that it was still really early, and that things don't really pick up until after midnight.
There is generally no cover charge to get in, though there is a fee to get into the VIP area, upstairs—a very reasonable $5 on the nights I was there, but I suspect that goes up on the weekends. At any rate, it's worth it. Drinks are two for one upstairs, and the environment is just better. Plus, you can go out on the balcony and toss Mardi Gras beads down to anyone on Bourbon Street who "asks" for them. They have a number of private rooms upstairs, too, and they will happily give you a tour of them. Each has a different theme, each comes with a bottle of top-shelf champagne, and each is unbelievably expensive—they range from around $600 for 30 minutes to $8500 for a few hours in the premier room. Apparently, there are men who cough up the cash for this, but it's way out of my price range! Instead, the private booths are more reasonably priced, and they're fairly private and comfortable. Cost is still high, however: $30 for every 3 minutes. You can pay with cash or credit. I'm used to a club elsewhere where a VIP room dance is $150 for 30 minutes, so the price here is steep, in my book.
Still, I had a nice time, mainly because I had private dances with a gorgeous woman named Rose. That made it worth it.
