Best Club in Town. Only US Style Strip Club.

Dusting this one off from the archives, since the euro clubs don't have that many reviews. Was in Bucharest on business, and this was the first club I hit that night. Hadn't really planned on clubbing, but I needed to get out of the hotel since one of my traveling companions was drunk and getting way too friendly. Certain drama with coworker? No. Possible drama with strangers, why not? It was a Thursday, I believe, but the days don't really seem to matter for the clubs in Bucharest. The club is either a good one or it isn't, and most of what were widely known as the best clubs in town were shuttered. I found this club completely by accident. Bogdan the Cabbie was running me around trying to locate Valhalla (long gone) and I spotted this club en route to the abandoned building. I knew most of the clubs that were supposedly good were cross town, so I convinced that cabbie to turn around and backtrack to drop me off at the club that was actually there. At this point I didn't know what it was called, but I know a strip club when I see one. Or at least I think I do.

I walk in the door and see what appears to an Asian restaurant. An empty Asian restaurant, but I can hear something in the distance. Not in that Club Budapest, Texas Chainsaw kind of way. It sounded like a strip club, only invisible. So I'm standing by the host table and start reading some of the stuff lying around. Something that looks like a menu catches my eye, so I pick it up and flip through it. Things that appear to be snacks, then alcohol, then...time with girls. Just then a voice picks up from my right. The host appears out of nowhere, shows me a menu and asks me if I smoke cigars. I'm still not exactly sure what the deal is until I see a smokin hot brunette walk out into the room on her way to the back in some leggings and a thong. Disco. He tells me there's a entry fee, a couple of hundred lei, and I say no thanks. He then offers to have a girl give me a tour of the place and I say sure thing.

There's a nice little review here with what's on the menu, so I'll just say the actual club is downstairs. It's bigger than you'd think, with girls milling around and dancing on the bar. There were some other customers around the room, each with a girl or two. Looked like they were having a good time. The VIP room areas included a few themes to perk things up. One was made out like a boat cabin and one was an elevator. It was actually pretty cool in a you get what you pay for kind of way. Also noticed that each area had a little panic button set up, probably for the girls. Let's call that the ass whup button. You probably don't want to see what happens if it gets hit. You're probably seeing a theme through these euro reviews about implied violence, but if you're checking these places out you should keep in mind a lot of them are connected even if you can't see the goons. I saw enough around the place to know it was my plan B if nothing else worked out, since the girls were top notch. Looking back on it having seen the other clubs, this was the only place you could sit and drink while watching the show without catching a ton of hustle.
