Not what it used to be

Used to stop by Pumptown Tavern once a month or so when I worked in the area. Under the old management, the girls would be topless or have the option to go full nude while on stage (which is located in middle of the large, square bar). They would then exit the stage and walk topless around the bar going from patron to patron collecting tips and selling private lap dances. Girls would take the stage one after the other so there was always the girl on stage and two or three walking around topless plus other girls seated and chatting or walking around. I had a private dance which was of the no touch, no grind variety. Still, the girls were average to above average and it was a friendly, pleasant atmosphere.

Stopped in unaware of the new management late on a Friday afternoon and was immediately pounced on five feet into the place by a rough looking female bouncer who demanded to know if I had any weapons. I should note that I am clean cut and was dressed business casual. This was off-putting but I dismissed it, sat at the nearly empty bar and ordered a beer. I was there ten minutes before the first dancer came out. She was ok, but I learned from the bartender they are now only allowed to be topless. This a was disappointment. Once she left the stage it was another ten minutes before the next dancer came out. She was also just ok, did her three songs and her walk around. It went on like this for a good hour with few new patrons or girls showing up. I learned from the bartender there was new ownership and they were still building a clientele and recruiting dancers. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back about a month later. Nothing had changed from my last experience.

So, in summary...new management, doesn't have the same laid-back feel, average girls and not enough of them, no more full nude. Also, the club is now non-smoking. For me, the place is no longer worth my time or money. I don't expect to be back anytime soon.
