I went to The Ace Of Clubs at 22:45 on a rainy Saturday night. The strip club is located right on the bank of Bayou Lafourche. There is a small parking lot on the west side of the building. The cover charge was $10 for regular entry or $15 for entry with VIP access. You are given a wristband when you purchase the latter. If you buy the cheaper entry, you have to stay on the first floor. The VIP wristband lets you go up to the second floor, buy lap dances, and get VIP rooms. If you buy the regular entry and decide to upgrade later on to VIP, you can get a VIP wristband from a bartender for $5.
The first floor is dominated by a large stage in the shape of a club, the same shape that you see in a deck of playing cards. There are three twenty-foot-tall spinning poles on the stage. An ace of clubs playing card is painted in the middle of the stage. Surrounding the club-shaped stage is a massive bar that mimics the shape of the stage. All of the seating is on stools at the bar with the exception of a couple of couches on an elevated platform to the right. Sincweisers were $5. The bartenders and management were very friendly. The manager came around twice during my visit to shake my hand and thank me for stopping by. One of the bartenders flashed us her F cups. There are two video poker machines and an ATM to the left of the entrance. The ATM has a maximum withdrawal of $400 and a $5 fee per transaction.
There is a stairway at the back of the room that goes up to the second floor. You can look down on the stage below from the second floor through a large club-shaped hole cut into the floor like you are on a balcony. The upstairs has a small bar, a small stage with a pole, and plenty of couches to relax on. In my opinion, paying the higher cover charge is worth it. All of the VIP rooms are located on the second floor behind a wall of lights.
Dancers go on stage for three song sets, stripping down to topless. The dancer performs the first two songs on the poles. Customers would crumple dollar bills into balls and toss them across the four foot moat between the bar top and the stage to the dancer on stage. On the third song, the dancer would parade on the top of the bar to get tips from customers. You can slide the bills into their g-strings, but it did not seem like there was any other contact available at the stage. Dancers were friendly and not too pushy.
There were only three dancers working on Saturday night. One was Caucasian, one was Hispanic, and one was mixed. All of them seemed to be between their late twenties and mid-thirties. I was told there were a lot more dancers working on Friday night, but they drank like crazy and didn’t show up for the Saturday shift. The weather also might have been responsible for a low entertainer turnout.

Private dances are $40 per song. There are five VIP rooms upstairs: LSU, Camp, Platinum, Gold, and Monroe. Each has a different theme. The first three rooms are $150 for fifteen minutes, $200 for twenty minutes, $300 for thirty minutes, and $600 for sixty minutes. The latter two rooms are $175 for fifteen minutes, $225 for twenty minutes, $350 for thirty minutes, and $625 for sixty minutes. The more expensive rooms are larger with bigger couches and televisions. One dancer hinted we could do more than just lap dances. I wasn’t going to pony up big cheddar to find out whether that was true or not.
I felt like I may have caught The Ace Of Clubs on an off night. Besides the lacking quantity and quality of dancers, I had an alright time. I will give this place another go when I have business on the bayou.
