Friday Night at Club Rouge

Went to Club Rouge with some friends on a Friday night. The club itself was fairly nicely put together as Portland goes. Everything was reasonably clean and orderly; definitely not a divey vibe. There are two stages in the middle of the club with a reasonable number of chairs surrounding them. Most of the chairs were occupied while we were there, but not so much as to be hard to get seats when we wanted them. There was also an area along the wall that the under-21 dancers hung out at between their sets on stage. Overall, it was comfortable and not sketchy feeling.

The dancers were pretty high-quality for the area. A fair amount of tattoos and piercings, but nothing extreme for the most part; nothing out of the ordinary for Portland standards. Most of the girls were no worse than a 6, with a number of 8. There was a pretty good mix of looks/body types, and surprisingly more diversity than I'm used to in Portland. The dancers were up for two songs a piece, some getting fully nude by early in the second song, a few barely getting topless before their two-song set was over. Most of the girls gave a decent stage show, though a few were definitely going through the motions. Some gave some pretty good interaction with the customers sitting at the rail. There was virtually no hustle, which was nice. As far as I could tell, there are a few spots to get private dances: a not-very-private, sheer curtained area not far from the stages, a somewhat private curtained area tucked in the back of the club, and a VIP room. I got one from a long-haired blonde girl with a nice figure; she said it would be $40 for one dance, $100 for three. I wasn't looking to spend the $100, so I went with one. She took me to the not-very-private area (she mentioned she was under 21 and said something else that I couldn't hear over the music; I wasn't sure if that or just getting a single song is why we went to that area and not the more-private one). The dance wasn't great, especially for $40. I hadn't realized she wouldn't get fully nude for the single song, and she just didn't seem that into it. I've gotten better dances there before, so it was probably just the girl.

All-in-all, I'd definitely go back again, but would probably try to get more clarity on the dances before committing to one.
