A Hidden Gem That Deserves Better

TL;DR - Classy, quaint, sociable. You may not get hands on time but it is a pleasant experience. I am by no means an expert on clubs; I still get taken for a ride (both good and bad) every now and then or find out that I'm just not reasonable (or reasonable enough) with what I expect. Places that used to be my favorite have gone either downhill and damn near brothel like or so upstanding that LD area is more contactless than anything. Bored and not feeling up to going to Providence for the usual strike-outs I headed towards Plainfield; I've known of Stars for a while but never had a reason to visit as I just didn't know anything about the place. I popped in around 5PM on a Friday, usually when a club starts seeing some life... to nothing. Only the bouncer and one other patron. Eeek, but I'll stick it out. Within a half hour the bartender shows up and I'm enjoying $3 beers (yes, $3) and chatting her up. Evidently the hours have changed and normally the club doesn't open until 6:30 as they've had trouble getting the dancers schedules setup right and business can be painfully slow. As we're chatting, two girls come on out and one instantly latches to the gentleman there before me (they would be inseparable for the next 3 hours, including her time on stage). The other girl joins the conversation and everyone is having a grand time; both girls were easily in the 8 to 9 range and the one I had at the bar was sociable. More patrons started filtering in by 7 along with girls (topped out at about 9 dancers and probably 12 patrons when I left around 10pm). All the girls seemed more than happy to chill between stage sets (no DJ until 8, so it was a top pop hits station for a while... one girl tried dancing to Adele); that's not to say they didn't try to sell dances but it was almost no pressure (I ended up going in for 5 or so and enjoyed it immensely). The club itself is very clean and deceptively big, two stories with what appears to be a private lounge upstairs. The down stairs has a large main stage with two story pole, two bars (only one open that night) and the lap dance area which feels like an overly large lounge with comfy couches and mirrored ceiling; a thin gauze curtain separates the couches from the main area but to be honest nobody really appeared to care what was happening in their when they weren't. I can't honestly answer if there are extras available as I was looking for a place to go low key for a bit and just enjoy the sights... and this club was it. A nice gem hidden in the woods away from Providence and a quick drive from the Casinos, Stars is definitely a place to go for some class with the ass without the hassle.
