Nice Club, Standoffish Dancers

This was my first visit since September. In the interest of full disclosure, the main reasons for going to this club twice before had to do with a favorite of mine from another club (Millstream) who danced here for a while before she left the region. Without that charm, it's basically a very clean, slick club that looks to be well done and both completely unexpected and quite well-separated from the rest of its neighborhood (Curtis Bay). I was here on a rare Sunday night, staying overnight near BWI due to a flight at 530 am Monday (wanted to avoid having to drive from Northern Virginia at 3:30 am and mess around with parking). So for entertainment, I decided to give this a shot. Sunday night is a $5 cover and yes, they scan your ID. The massive bar had about 10 people, with the stage, as always far away in the middle of the bar area. If you want to mid-dance tips, you have to wad up your dollar bills, 2 of which had the college jock vibe around them and were attracting the dancers after their tip crawls. Two really attractive blondes, two friendly Afro-Americans, and 4 OK brunettes (a couple who had some curves, most rather skinny) , with a couple gals auditioning and more girls and customers coming in as the night went on.

The gals are sorta friendly but curt (basically blank slates), depending on whether they know you (I won't begrudge those things, as I know from being a regular at another club, knowing dancers has its advantages.) The flip side is the gals as a rule (I saw this previously) don't do a very good job at cultivating new regulars. Only a couple gals went back with guys to do private dances, it seemed like a lot were hanging out in the dressing room. I also found that extra tips for extra sexiness (say $3 instead of $1) get you no extra attention here (this is too reminiscent of clubs in Florida and Texas for my taste). The up side is the food is OK, the barmaids are very nice and very responsive, and the drink prices are competitive. Perhaps if I'd stayed past 10 pm I would have seen magic occur, but I bagged it and went to that other club over in Glynn Oak for a quick visit where I was nicely serviced as usual.
