Having the day off and figuring...

Having the day off and figuring lots of others did too, I made the drive to Mardi Gras to see how things have been since my last visit a number of months ago. I got to Springfield area a just about noon - knowing this place opens at noon, I thought I'd give it some time for dancers and customers to show up, so went shopping . Finally, I made my way to Taylor St. around 12:40. About 20-25 cars were in the lot, a couple of fancy ones parked outside the front door, so I figured things were happening by now. WRONG! I parked in their lot and walked in. Three old guys sitting at the back bar, 3 more at the front bar, and ONE single dancer, a couple dozen pounds overweight, sitting on the stage chewing the fat (pun intentional) with the 3 guys at the bar - luckily she hadn't taken much of her clothes off yet. Not a single other dancer in the whole place. First time in years that I didn't even have one beer before I booked. Totals: 45 seconds, $0. Sad. And "4" is a generous rating for the so-called "best club in MA" with a single chubby dancer on a holiday afternoon.

Curious, I just checked old posts to see when my one with a similar (but a bit better than this one) review was. Coincidentally, or maybe not, it was Jan. 1 2005!! That was on a Saturday afternoon, today is a Monday (holiday) afternoon. Guess I'll stay away from this place on New Year's Day/Weekend.
