Mixing Business with Pleasure
Up in T.O. for business and had some downtime so I went out to see the sights and get a feel of the city. First off T.O is a great city and friendly people, but you aren't reading to get a review of the city....on to Zanzibar!!!
I got the low down on the club from the bartender at my hotel, he recommended some of the clubs outside the city...to get some real action. However, since i was not familiar with the city, and Zanzibar was within walking distance...no brainer. It was about 3 in the afternoon...the thing is most clubs up there open at noon...great for me since all the spots around my way now only open at night.
I get to the club and the cover was modest (loving the exchange rate). Bouncer could tell I wasn't a local and was very friendly, peeped me to the ground rules. First off, there were women from all over. Eastern Europeans, Caribbean, African (Ethiopian and Egyptian bartenders....I would have spent the mortgage if one of them were dancing), French Canadian etc...I took at least 30 min just taking it all in. The music was eh...I'm used to black clubs in the states and the stage dancer was kinda wack, a lot of gymnastics (climbing the pole and sliding down...) I wasn't impressed, but that's not why I'm here. The drinks were great and before long a cute Czech girl sits next to me we started talking, no pressure and the dollar brigade wasn't out (I guess they don't do that in Toronto) and she convinces me to go for a lapdance in the vip. It was pretty cool, she was funny and i got a couple of songs. I went back up to the lounge area ... The lounge is better than the bar..you can see the whole layout see the girls come and go and still see the stage. My dollar went far that afternoon (Really loving the exchange rate). Drinks were cheap, dances were cheaper than in the states (Still loving the exchange rate) and the girls were very cute (nothing below a 6) what's not to like?!
I got a few more dances from a Trinidadian, another girl who said she was First Nations/Native ( I guess that would mean Indian Native American...to us in the States)
