My girlfriends and I (three of us total) decided to check out the Silver Dollar Club on a Saturday night and were surprised that there was a $5 cover charge even for women. Apparently during the week just men have the cover, but on weekends, women are charged as well. We first sat down at a table near the stage, then decided to move to a seat right at the stage. One dancer was just finishing her set, so we hadn't had time to put up any dollars, but she came by and said thanks and smiled and was sweet anyhow. We saw another dancer, she was interactive and fun, and we put up some ones. Then the next dancer was called up, but no one came. Finally, about halfway through the first song, a dancer came onto the stage. As she started to do some moves on the pole, I put up a dollar. She came by and swiped it off the side, then told us that to sit at the stage, which was empty besides us and one other person across the way from us, we had to tip the dancers $1 per person per song and that the bouncer told us this when we came in (he didn't). No small talk, no niceties, just rude, "give me money". We all must have had shocked looks on our faces. She told us that we were being really disrespectful and kept dancing. I put up another dollar for one of my friends and the other said she wasn't tipping that rude behavior. When the set was over, the dancer came over and chewed us out some more, then threw our money in our faces and went to complain to the next dancer coming up on stage, calling us bitches. We were shocked. We never once said anything but respectful words, put up money as we had for other dancers, yet still got called names and chewed out. As we stood to leave, the bouncer came over with the dancer in tow and told us it was time to go, which we were doing anyhow. When we left I called the manager and he apologized profusely, said he'd try to figure out which dancer it was, and also talk to the bouncer, who isn't allowed to kick anyone out without talking to him. He also told us to come back and get our cover charges back to feel free to use them elsewhere and apologized again. I'm glad the manager made it right, otherwise I might not be willing to give this place another try ever. I've yet to go back, but with the manager trying to make things right, I'd be willing to give it another try.
