The Mynx Cabaret (and its juice bar nude cousin Mynx After Dark) is the only club in Hartford proper. So if you're in town without a lot of time, this is your only option. The club is relatively secluded, down a service road so there isn't a lot of traffic. The area isn't terrible and the parking lot is relatively large but the lighting isn't great. Walking inside, there is a small, raised room with a single pool table immediately to the right. Further to the right are two champagne rooms. The larger of the two has four very large semicircular couches and the smaller has four good sized booths. There is a rectangular bar with chairs on three sides, one side having a view of the stage. On the left wall are the lap dance booths on a raised platform. The booths are relatively private with the seats facing a mirrored wall. At night, there is usually a bouncer up there keeping an eye on things. There is an oval stage with two poles and plush chairs ringing the perimeter. There are high tops and low tables throughout. During peak times, it can be hard to navigate. The club is relatively clean but it starting to look a little worn.

The dancers here run the gamut. Ethnicity wise, the dancers are usually white or Hispanic/Latina. I've only seen African-American dancers a few times and never an Asian. Most of the dancers are in their mid-to-late twenties with some skewing to either side of that figure. Most are above average looks with the number of truly pretty girls increasing the later it gets. There are a some dogs but YMMV. During the day, there aren't any bouncers so the girls are open to contact. While I always wait to be invited, I've never had a dancer fail to invite touching during the day (that is not the case at night). The dances are usually pretty good with a good amount of grinding, manual stimulation, and even some kisses/tongue. I've never been offered any extras here but I have had dancers actively put forth some effort to satisfy me as a customer. Socially, it's a split. Some dancers are very friendly and talkative, I even had one give me her real name and number unsolicited. But there is usually a contingent of dancers who sit in chairs by the lap dance or dj booths playing with their phones and rebuffing advances. There are also regulars here who draw crowds of ladies to chat with so it can be tough to get attention if you're in a hurry. The hustle of the day crew isn't bad, generally low key and taking no for an answer.

Cost wise, it's not the cheapest place but it's not terrible either. Regular lap dances are $25 a song, a 15 minute VIP is $150-180 and a 30 minute Champagne Room is $300-$400. Drinks are $8 for mixed drinks, $5-$6 for beer, with $3 Bud or Coors drafts during happy hour. There is no cover during the day. There is an ATM but the fee is $15. If you run out of money and have to get more, there is a sex shop next door with a $3 ATM. They do serve food but I can't speak to its quality, costs $10-$30.
