Old School

Visited on a weeknight while in town for work. Had heard about the legacy of this place, and was right next to a bar I was at, so I figured I'd give it a try. As with other Portland clubs, it was very laid back atmosphere. One of the girls was outside in front smoking with a patron. No doorman, just walk right in. The place itself looks more like a dive bar than a strip club. Definitely not trying for glitz or fancy looks. Small bar with maybe 8-10 seats right near the front - decent tap list, good service. The stage is right at the end of the bar (I sat at the last seat to get the best of both worlds), elevated and small with a single pole. Pretty dark, but you could see the girls pretty well on stage. A few rail seats, mostly other tables and chairs a bit further back facing the stage. One thing I actually thought was really cool was that the girls actually picked their own songs from a jukebox at the side of the stage. It did slow things down a bit while they picked, but overall I thought it was a cool feature.

The girls varied - first girl on was blonde, very acrobatic, skinny and tatted, couldn't wait to get her clothes off - another was a thicker white girl who didn't do much honestly, hesitant to take stuff off, she seemed nervous and may have been new - etc.. Not much tipping for either, but the place wasn't that crowded, with only one guy on the rail, plus myself at the end of the bar. They generally didn't walk the room after dances or anything, not pushy for privates, etc. Maggie was a tall brunette who really worked the stage well - great body, great moves, easily getting the most from the crowd out of all the girls. I ended up getting a private dance from her (she knew to come over due to the eyes I was giving her while she was on stage and while I was tipping her) - I forget exactly what the arrangement/pricing was (maybe something like $75 for 3 songs or something?) - private booth was just a tiny area near the door, covered by a curtain with a small booth inside. Asked for no hands from me aside from light touching on the legs or so, but she did plenty of grinding and worked me over real good. Good moves for the first song, top off for the second and nude for the third. Asked if I wanted another round, but I had to head out - she didn't seem offended, told me she would be elsewhere in a couple nights, so I saw her then as well.

I would definitely go back to Mary's. Definitely not what you want if you're looking for a show in a fancy club with smoke machines and lasers and 100 girls walking around. I liked the low-key/bar atmosphere and the music arrangement.
