Went to DV COI Tuesday night...

Went to DV COI Tuesday night and got there about 9:45. Something was subtly different, and then I noticed that the monitor screens around the club that used to promote the $10 dances didn’t say anything about the dance prices anymore. I got my first dance and asked the girl about prices and she said dances were now $20, not $10, and that the change was made on Saturday. Also, instead of keeping 100% of the dance money, the girls now have to tip out the club for dances. They keep 60%, and the club gets 40%. The DJ was announcing tons of two-for-ones, I assume to ease the transition into the new pricing structure. With the change there’s now a club employee at the entrance to the dance room who keeps track of the dance totals for each girl. This never happened prior to Saturday. One bright spot is that the VIP dances are still $150 for thirty minutes. With the new $20/dance rate the VIP represents a volume discount. If you figure three minutes per song, then ten songs would cost $200 in the dance room, and the same thirty minutes in the VIP is $150. Still, it's sad to see the loss of the $10 dance which was one of the best deals going while it lasted.
