I paid a visit to Catwalk in Memphis a few weeks back. The club is located off Lamar Ave. not far from the interstate. The interior of the place is kinda small, like a box. The club is divided into two areas, the main area has a bar along the wall (on your left as you are coming into the club) there is a large stage area in the middle of the main area that's surrounded by seating and a (not really) private dance area on the front wall on your right. There is a smaller VIP area in the back of the club with seating along the walls and its own smaller centralized stage area. There are flat-screens behind the bar, by the back wall and one in the VIP section. Entry into the club is $10 - $20 (with two drinks included) depending on the day of the week and an extra $4 dollars if you bring your own liquor (Like most of the "strip clubs" in Memphis it's beer/wine only). The VIP area is $10 Dollars for a wristband and access. The club doesn't serve food but (usually on the weekends) there is a food truck parked out front.

I popped in on a Friday night around 11:00pm. I have been here a few times before and it's pretty much the same routine. Gave the dude at the door my $20 (they give you two tickets for your drinks when you get inside), got patted down, stepped to the bar and immediately got approached by one of the "entertainers" working that night. I waived off the young lady that approached me. I never start talking to a dancer as soon as I walk into a club, I have to get a feel of the place first. Catwalk is most def a black club and it may be the last black club in Memphis that I kinda like (although I hear there is a club now open in North Memphis that I have yet to visit). There was about 15 or so dancers in the building this particular night. The dancers working on this night were mostly attractive IMO, some solid 7 and 8's mixed with a few 5 and 6's. I had seen most of the dancers before at some of the other clubs i.e Black Orchid, Epic, Yellow Rose (before they closed) can't really speak on Pure Passion because I never liked that club enough to spend a lot of time there (too young, and crowded) although I'm sure some of the dancers worked there as well. This is normal. Memphis seems to recycle all of the same dancers and this club at the moment seems to be one of the more preferred clubs (for black dancers) since Epic and Black Orchid have dried up.

This club isn't really big and it's shaped like a box (or maybe two connecting boxes) most of the seating in the main area tends to fill up quick once the club starts to get crowded and a lot of people end up standing by the bar. The actual seats in the main area also tend to be uncomfortable (the seating in front of the private dance area probably need to be replaced). Also because of the size of the club and the way it's shaped there isn't any real privacy (and the private dance area is in plain sight of everyone). Like all of the "strip clubs" in Memphis this is a bikini bar, according to some of the dancers I've talked to this is one of the stricter cubs (although the dancers still try to get away with what they can). Normal Memphis "strip club" rules apply and OTC is generally available. On the night's that are crowded it may be best to pay the extra $10 to get into VIP (Just for a place to sit) and this is in fact what I did on this particular night. The dancers would do a set on the main stage usually as a tandem and the the DJ would then send them to VIP where they would do a second set. I ended up sitting and drinking with one of the dancers who had brought in some liquor and we talked and exchanged shots of tequila. A little later I did a couple of dances ($20 a song, full on touching/contact, lots of fondling and flashing/normal Memphis shit) and I dipped out about 2 hours later. I think Memphis in general is a little overpriced for what you get but on this night it was cool and about what I expected. The Memphis scene is kinda weak so sometimes you gotta take (and enjoy) what you can get.
