Stopped in after a meeting, wearing a business suit. Stuck out like a sore thumb in the t-shirt crowd. So what. Warmly greeted by waitresses who used to dance. I found this confusing, so I inquired. Manager asked some of the dancers to become waitresses because they were short handed. Guess he blew that one, because he has filled the stage with fatties. In its glory days, long gone, this club would be full after a Detroit Tigers home game. No longer. Friendly waitress was willing to go to VIP for dances, but I had to pay her tip-out on top of paying for dances. She made it worthwhile. She tells me about proposed changes that may become the new Eight Mile Road standard: (1) cover charge will see a big increase;(2) fee to enter VIP will be eliminated; (3) fee to sit in a booth will be eliminated; (4) drink prices will see a moderate decrease; (5) VIP will be remodeled; (6) many new dancers. It looks like at least one manager has learned that customers are tired of being nickled and dimed for everything in the club, so this club will be moving towards an "all inclusive" cover, hoping to boost revenue through increased customer volume.
