My first time to Fuego... hard...
My first time to Fuego... hard to imagine they can stay in business if most weeknights are this slow. The latino "guard" at the front door asked if I had cigarettes or cell phones or cameras, all were forbidden. I was frisked to make sure, which actually made me feel safer, as this isn't in the best part of town, and I don't like smoking or pictures taken of me in strip clubs.
There was only one dancer on shift up until about 10:00, and then a second one showed. The management seemed to be trying out a new idea... private dances are now $15 and only available in the "VIP" area after purchase of a $10 "wristband". $5 of each dance goes to the management, with the other $10 to the dancer. The dancers were still getting used to the idea and seemed as confused as I was. I didn't like the new idea much, not that I was ever here before, but this can't have been an improvement!
I'm not used to DC clubs, but the dances seemed very heavy on sitting on laps and wiggling and very light on dancing. This might be some people's dream, but not mine. I'm there to look at beautiful naked women. The lap dances aren't even topless, either -- the full outfit stays on, although I guess for $30 a song you can use a private dance area and lose the top but not the bottom.
