Dixie Rose used to be West...
Dixie Rose used to be West Texas Cabaret, which used to be Maximus, which used to be Desiree's. You know what they say, "a rose by any other name..." Despite trying to fix it up, they can't fix the location. It's parked behind a security business and difficult to find. Recently, they put a neon billboard up announcing it's location, but it's still tucked behind other businesses. The furniture is old, but the stage is new as is a cage. The dancers, while friendly, are not the most attractive. Out of the 7 or 8 dancers we saw, only one or two of them could actually dance. Most just walked around the pole. Private dances are cheap at $20, but the vip area isn't very private, just some chairs on a raised platform with a see-through veil around it. Music was good, and drink prices were reasonable. Also, cover charge was only $10, which is a bargain compared to the other Abilene clubs. If you're looking for a topless stripclub that just so happens to serve beer, you're best going to Dallas or San Angelo. If you're looking for a beer that just so happens to have topless women, it may be worth a stop.
