So my friends and I decided to spend a Sunday evening at the Players Club and see if a good time can still be had after the recent changes. We all came in at about 9:00 with money to spend, liquor to share, and the desire to have a lot of fun with some nice young ladies.

Unfortunately, the vibe in the club was just not that positive. Many of the girls were in full-on mercenary mode. This is a shame when there are less than 10 guys in the place. When we are a significant portion of the the club's clientele, you would think that we would be treated well. That wasn't always the case. The good news is that Tiffany at the bar is a very gracious hostess and made sure we had no shortage of cups, ice, or mixers. And since I am a regular (who is going to the club less and less), a few lady friends came over and made sure we had great company and a good time (and we made sure they left with much more cash in their pocketbooks than they had at the start of the night). Sadly, before my lady friends came over, some of the new girls came by to introduce themselves to my crew and me. Apparently, in the new freshman class the days of a girl coming over, sharing a drink, chit-chatting, and then seductively asking for a dance are gone. Instead, these new girls demand a dance as soon as they sat down with us and became quite indignant when we declined. Yes this is a strip club, but a little civility (especially on a night that isn't busy) goes a long way with us old guys!

One thing to point out... the new payout and VIP systems are killing this club. The fact that the new girls will not (cannot?) accept less than $30/dance makes it too expensive to want to try out any of the new blood. Nearly all the lap dance booths were empty most of the night, and we didn't notice a lot of action going on in the VIP either. The girls that were going back were all well-established dancers at the PC. The management needs to consider rolling things back a bit and sharing the wealth (or lack thereof) with the ladies. If they want to keep rates high on the big nights (i.e., Friday & Saturday), that may work. But on the slow nights, the management might want to consider dropping payouts, dropping VIP room rates, and even consider dropping the cost of dances. Many other clubs in the area do 2-for-1 on traditionally slow nights to drum up business - maybe they should try it here? It's very obvious, that when the girls aren't making money, the energy level of the club goes way down. Let's hope something changes soon, and the PC becomes the great club we all grew to love and enjoy!
