In my continuing quest to find...

In my continuing quest to find a club in the Florida panhandle that I could see myself being a regular at , I had heard pretty good things about Sammy's on the Island. I made my way over on a Saturday evening around 7:30pm, as I figured I'd see the early shift dancers and I would get to see the night shift change and if I didn't see anything I liked on either one, I could move on and still have time to find another spot.

When I got there, I was immediately surprised by how glitzy and posh even just the exterior of the club was. It had a very nice entrance and velvet carpet leading up to a large pair of double doors to enter the club. I was even more surprised when I walked in, it was nothing like the Sammy's on E. Gregory St. in downtown Pensacola. The club was pretty big with very nice tables and high-back chairs surrounding the stages. There is LED track lighting everywhere and blue overhead lights that bath the club in a very nice soft blue glow, definitely better than black lights. There is a spiral staircase that leads up to a higher level so you can watch the stage shows from on high, and there is also a VIP room, but I believe it starts at around $400, so I'd stay away unless you're looking to blow cash and don't care.

There was a cover though I don't remember exactly how much, but it wasn't more than $10. I tipped the door girl and made my way to the bar. On the way I was pleased to have passed at least four 7's and 8's who were in various stages of entertainment, one dancing topless on stage, one sitting on another patrons lap drinking, and two I passed who were smiling and just making their way around the club, all in all I had a good feeling about his place already.
