Visited: Wednesday Evening

I have had some great visits to this club recently on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights over the last 5 months. I was bored on a Wednesday night (in late March) and I traipsed off to The Matador.

Upon entry, I noted that there was no one at the bar and the owner was at the door watching a sporting event on the TV at the entrance. I stood there for 5 minutes minimum before he asked me what he could do for me and I told him that I felt that it wasn't a good idea to walk past the owner of any club in my experience. We laughed and I was informed that it was a quiet night and there was no cover (usually $5 after 9:30ish). The owner locked back on to the sporting event on TV and I observed 2 other drunk patrons at the stage with 1 dancer known to me (Sky). that was on the stage, I chose to sit at the bar and wait for the bartender to serve me. 20 minutes later and at the commercial break - I was served by the club's owner (Jimmy). I paid my $7.00 plus tip for my Rum and Coke and realiized right then that Sky was the only entertainment for the evening. She had the full attention of the other 2 patrons in the club that evening (Dumb and Dumber go stripclubbing) might be appropriate. Dumb and Dumber were brutal to watch engage with Sky between publicly trying to finger her on stage and/or place money in her orifices. At one point, I moved for a better view to make sure that the engagement was as I saw it at 40 feet and I confirmed that it was to my disappointment. So I approached the stage at 90 degrees angle to D & D and stage tipped her properly for the rest of her stage time. Dumb and Dumber invited me over to group tip/grope the entertainer, but I passed twice and informed them that my club visits to The Matador were always a solo engagement. Then much to D & D's consternation, Sky and I did a couple of lap dances in the back VIP of the club where sometimes it might be anything goes, but on this night (without reference to why) there was no ducking and dodging of either party and no entertainment that would make any party quiver (management or participant). The Vip dance is $40 per dance at the Matador, but some offer a 3 for $100 deal and Sky did so when I reupped for #3. I passed on the discount and paid her the going rate.

So we ended our engagement and one of the awesome duo went back to VIP with Sky and the other more talkative asshat started chatting me up. How was Sky I was asked and I answered with my response that my engagement is my engagement and your engagement (when you go there) wont have me needing to know a thing. Asshat #2 then asked me if I intentionally jumped the line and I told him that the choosing was done by the performer and it certainly wasn't due to my Wallet, good looks, wit, and charm. The buildup that might be expected in ourcustomer interaction did not occur and life moves on. Sky will not remember me and I will return to only stage tipping her for her stage performance on nights where she does work the stage as well as anyone. Why go on and on about Dumb and Dumber, I simply ask that customer don't be an asshat. I don't have White Knight Syndrome, but yes on this evening I offered a little pass interference on a Wednesday night. Lesson learned - just visit this club later in the week, unless you are a Knight! Also, if D & D aren't the norm for Wednesday night behavior at The Matador - Jimmy and Sky are capable of addressing it.
