I've sort of given up finding a good club on Long Island so i guess im slowly making my way towards NYC. Ive been reluctant to go to NYC cuz of prices but after my experience with Rouge, it is sort of inevitable.
I came in at my usual time which is 5 PM. I usually go in at this time bec clubs are usually low key and empty so you can get some good mileage and face to face with the best dancers. I went into Rouge based on the solid reviews on Tuscl but was pretty disappointed. First let me get to the layout. The layout is pretty simple: a bar encircling a stage in the middle (you cant really reach the dancers to tip bec the stage is far). The clientele looked like some Manhattan finance guys who wanted a more low key location than the midtown clubs. The outside of the club looks like it was recently redone so I was hopeful upon entering that the inside would be the same. Unfortunately the inside was seedy and a bit rundown. When I came in I was immediately hounded by two dancers who were 2's on a good day. The black girl on stage was a little thick and not a looker but knew how to dance. The bartender was a Russian (or thereabouts)and very nice and friendly. Due to the lack of talent I didnt spend much time in rouge....
