My first visit since it reopened....

My first visit since it reopened. If you see my review of the sister club The Horns, you will see that I was worried that this club would be spoilt by the refurbishment and become like that one. Fortunately, it hasn't been badly spoilt.

The refurbishment was substantial, most changes were neither good nor bad, just different. A few were slightly for the better and a few slightly for the worse. The decor was getting a bit sad and dingy but it is much smarter now. I think that they have mostly done a good job. It is probably more couple friendly now that it is a lot smarter. The inside is thoroughly changed. You enter through a different door (just a few yards away). The bar and stage has swapped places. The bar is now near the door and the stage away from it. This is good since sometimes an issue at the door would disturb the show, this should be less likely now. The toilets are much improved and are now downstairs in the basement. The stage is quite a bit different. It is deeper than it used to be and the poles and the rail are further back than they used to be. It used to be that the girls would often come within inches of you while using the pole. Now, it is about a yard. Similarly, the back rail is further away as well. There are a couple of chairs at the two sides of the back which many of the girls use for the show. Most girls dress afterwards at the right hand chair so if you have a good view of that then you get a slight extension of the show. This extra depth of the stage is disappointing. Also, the shelf around the stage is deeper moving you a few more inches from the girls. On the plus side, there are now stools along the bar so you can sit up close (just not as close as you used to be able to stand). There is a new smart seating area further back but I did not use that.

The basic formula is the same. Drinks are typical prices for standard pubs in the area. A girl comes around with a beer mug, usually during the previous girl's show, and collects £1. She dances for one song. Initially in bra and panties or something similar. During the show, both come off. The good girls strip quite promptly, a few stay clothed for a bit too long. The gaps between the show are rather too long. You get an average of one show every 10 minutes so the gaps are about twice as long as the shows.
