There are two types of clubs...

There are two types of clubs out there, the one that feels like a neighborhood bar and the type that looks more like a Vegas show bar. Up until now, the only clubs worth going to in Pittsburgh were the neighborhood types. Places like Silky's (my favorite until about a week ago), Erotica, or even Blush if that's what you like. On the other spectrum, the only true large show bar is Cheerleaders. That place has some hot ladies, but what's the deal about having to throw money to tip the dancers? Its trying to be like Vegas, but I've been to Vegas many times and Cheerleaders is no Vegas.

So when the Penthouse Club opened, I thought it would actually be another Cheerleaders. I wasn't all that hopeful and figured I'd give it a shot and after I was there an hour or so and hated it, I'd move on to someplace else. Holy cow, how this place isn't packed every night I just can't figure out. Now to be fair, if you are interested exclusively in standing on the side line and watching the most beautiful women, you will still probably like Cheerleaders more. There were some 9s and 10s, but they also had a few 6s dancing as well. You'd never see the 6s in Vegas, Phoenix, Tampa, or Dallas. So fine, just ignore those, and concentrate on the hot ones.

I was there on a Tuesday and it was pretty much dead -- though in fairness, without a ball game that night, I think most clubs were dead. The good part about that is there was plenty of available street parking so there was no "required valet" as there might be on a busy night. The club was way to big for the crowd, but that's OK. Drinks are reasonable and no more expensive than other bars in the city. I was joined by a tall gorgeous young lady. She wasn't a 10, but she was solid 8, maybe even a 9. She didn't ask me to buy her a drink (I really hate that!), she didn't push a private dance until I asked about it. She was very friendly and I'm sure would have been fine if I told her she wasn't my type. Fortunately, she is one of the several types I enjoy.
