I danced at Rouge on a friday night recently. there were at least 25 girls working, it seemed like a lot of girls for this relatively small place. i actually liked this club a lot. it has a laid-back cozy vibe. the girls were friendly (that's not always the case in nyc). bouncers, manager and vip guys were all nice and not trying to intimidate people.

the club is clean, not creepy or "divey".

the club is just one room with a large stage which has three poles and is completely surrounded by the bar. there were 3 or 4 girls dancing on the stage at all times. there is not really anywhere else to sit other than at the bar (there are 4 small tables along the wall). sitting at the bar does obligate you to tip at least one dollar to each dancer after she gets off the stage. this is not such a bad deal, since you can sit at the bar all night watching the girls and just spend one dollar at a time. this is a very low-hustle club, you will not be pressured to get dances, most of the girls were just sitting around when they weren't on the stage. lap dances cost $25 per song and take place in a vip room where you will be visible to other patrons getting lapdances AND to the vip guy who comes in often to check that nobody is breaking the rules. there is also a "champagne room" ($125 for 15 minutes) which is just a couch behind a big dark curtain in the vip room. i don't think anybody will be checking on you in there.

the music played at rouge was mostly hip hop, with a smattering of alternative rock and some latin. the girls were a mixed variety. all different skin colors and body types. majority of girls were russian or african american. there were a lot of beautiful girls and a lot of very good dancers (a lot of pole tricks). most of the girls here have some booty and know how to shake it, it's that kind of club. overall, i had a good time at this place. i think it's a cool neighborhood spot to chill out and see some ass n titties without being pressured to spend a ton of money.

the biggest downside of this club is that it is not really accessible by the subway. also, they do serve food (burgers, fries, etc), and they have hookahs, which seemed to be pretty popular.
